Magomaev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall
Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall occupies an important place in the cultural life of the republic. Its purpose is to acquaint the public of Azerbaijan with the performers of classical and ethnic music. The building of the Philharmonic Hall was built in 1910-12 as the project of "Summer house for public meeting". Even during the Soviet Union, the building became the place where began to gather music lovers, as well as ensembles and orchestras. On May 25, 1936, in Azerbaijan, along with the other republics of the USSR were created Philharmonic societies. In 1936-37 the building was completely renovated. Then, the Philharmonic hall was named after honored artist Muslim Magomedovich Magomaev. Today, in addition to concerts of the groups, acting at the Philharmonic hall, here are held performances of famous foreign soloists, musicians and artists.
